Two children and five marathons later, she prioritized becoming certified to teach and received her Hot Yoga Certification from CorePower in the Spring of 2008. Elizabeth underwent
knee surgeries on both of her knees in 2007, so she knows first-hand and speaks to the healing value of hot yoga, and the need for patience in our postures to ultimately allow for deeper openings.

Nancy Tomb
Nancy discovered yoga in a Bikram studio in San Diego in 2002. She immediately fell in love with yoga purely for the physical benefits. It helped keep her calm during college. Amy
Amy's yoga path started when her friend Ashley Phoenix opened a yoga studio in 2000. Not only did she want to support her friend, the studio was a few blocks from her house - it was unavoidable. In the beginning, many practices would end in tearful rides home. Emotional roadblocks and self-limiting thoughts came to the forefront. It was the start of an incredible journey into physical and spiritual awakening. After just months of regular practice, she began to feel herself changing, growing. Her mind had been opened to a lighter way of living. To her amazement, her chronic knee pain from 5 knee reconstructions diminished and eventually completely resolved. More gifts came as well: self-forgiveness, self-love, real confidence and a sense of her place in life.

Amanda Lindemann
I moved from rural North Dakota to Vail, Colorado in the fall of 1997. I quickly fell in love with my new home. As a nature lover and athlete, there was no better place to be. I spent the next five years living life to the fullest; working and playing hard in pursuit of success in competitive snowboarding. After a handful of minor injuries, my body was asking for a break.

Paul Perry
Paul began his yoga journey quite accidentally in 1999, as a way to relieve tension in his aching muscles in between hard days at the gym. At the time this was just supplemental, physical, and temporary. Relying on intuition and experimentation, his home practice soon became more consistent and gratifying.

Tiffany Foss
Tiffany found yoga in 2006 when a coworker brought her to her first class. She stuck it out for the introductory week and never went back until a year later. She was working in Buffalo, NY and her boss' wife was an instructor who encouraged her to give Bikram another chance. She did, and this time she was hooked. She attended classes five days a week and helped out at the studio. Three months later she left the U.S. to study abroad in Cape Town and stopped practicing while she was there. She ran a little off and on, but towards the end of her five month stay she realized she was missing something in her life and that she had lost her sense of self.

Katy
I feel truely blessed to be able to do what I love! Timing strongly worked in my favor when I moved to Yoga on 6th. I began cleaning for free yoga and I now manage the studio I went to Level 1 training with Baron Baptise in February of 2008. I plan to further my experience and education of yoga.

Jen
I have always been very athletic. I ride bikes (both road and mountain). I love to hike and backpack. I run, swim, ski... and for a long time I thought that I wanted to try yoga. I did one day, and I have been practicing every since. I took my first Bikram class over four years ago, and my first power class shortly after that.
My practice has given me so much patience and insight into myself. I have learned how to slow down, give up some of my competetiveness, and see the world in a very different light. Through my practice I have learned to be compassionate for myself and more compassionate for others around me.

Carolina Christiansen
Carolina first found yoga about 10 years ago. She had always been interested and attracted to the physical and mental benefits of this amazing practice. Back in her native Chile, she looked for a studio that could guide her through this experience, but that wasn't the time or place for yoga in her life. In 2003 she moved to Denver and after a few months of looking for a place to practice, she found Yoga on 6th. It wasn't until a severe injury to her knees that pushed her to listen to her body, that she gave up to the power of this ancient experience.

Rebekah Cunningham
Rebekah has been practicing Bikram yoga for 10 years. She attended her first Bikram class after moving to Colorado from Los Angeles, where she was raised. The first couple of years, she attended classes once or twice a week when her work schedule permitted. She was traveling heavily and found the practice to be very grounding after being gone for extended periods of time. After a while, her practice increased to several times a week. She began to attend classes all over the country when she would travel, enjoying various teaching styles and techniques. Yoga became an engrained part of her life, something she felt deeply connected to.
