Marcy Donovan
Marcy stepped into her first hot yoga class in March 2002 with the sole intention of losing the last 10 lbs of baby weight from having her third child. She had no clue what she was about to uncover.
Within the first two months of practice the weight was gone and the added strength, health and energy were addicting, however the motivation to practice had completely shifted. The mental and emotional benefits quickly outweighed the physical. The stress relief, calming and clarity of mind and breath work are what have kept her practicing over the years.
Marcy's background is in teaching Elementary Education. When the opportunity arose to complete hot yoga teacher training in the Fall of 2005, Marcy jumped at the chance to connect her love of teaching with her love of yoga. She finds working with people with injuries especially rewarding as well as helping people blend the mental/emotional aspects of yoga with this very physical and rehabilitating workout.
Marcy trained at Hot Yoga Vail Valley RYS, and has also attended workshops and trainings with Baron Baptiste, Ana Forrest, Shiva Rea, Gary Kraftsow, Roger Cole and Simon Park. She moved to Denver from the Vail Valley in the summer of 2009 and is excited to be a part of the Yoga on 6th family.
